Transforming Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers are unlike other restorations. A veneer consists of a thin, small shell custom-made based on your natural teeth’ shape, size, and color. A few issues veneers can address include:

  • Permanently stained teeth
  • Cracked or chipped teeth
  • Misshaped teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Misaligned teeth

The process starts with an evaluation of your dental health. It’s important to determine whether conditions such as gum disease are present so they can be addressed beforehand.

Real Patients – Real Results

Before & After Treatment

Once we determine your dental health is good, we can start the preparations for your new porcelain veneers. The first step will involve preparing your teeth for your custom veneers. This involves removing a small amount of tooth enamel from the tooth’s surface or teeth receiving veneers. We do this to ensure your new veneers will fit securely onto the tooth’s surface to create a stronger bond.

While your new veneers are being made in our lab, you’ll receive temporary veneers to protect your teeth. However, remember that these veneers will not be as secure as your permanent veneers, so you’ll need to take great care not to engage in anything that could damage them, such as biting into foods like apples or hard candies.

Say Hello to Your New Smile

After two to three weeks, you’ll return to our office for your permanent porcelain veneers. Your new veneers can last up to 15 years or more with proper care. Practicing good oral hygiene, including daily brushing and flossing, will still be necessary.

Also, we recommend avoiding or reducing the consumption of most hard foods, as your permanent veneers can still crack and chip.

Another excellent advantage porcelain veneers offer is that they are stain-resistant since they have a non-porous surface, unlike natural teeth. This also means that most tooth whitening treatments will not work on porcelain veneers.

However, you may still be able to have your surrounding teeth whitened using our special professional whitening treatments that can provide impressive results even for people with veneers.
