Key Facts You Should Know about Dental Implant Treatment

No one plans on losing teeth, but it’s often a reality of life. You may lose teeth in an accident due to dental trauma, untreated decay, or advanced gum disease. Regardless of the reason for losing permanent teeth, Drs. Nathen Ellis and Gary Hubbard can help you rebuild your smile with dental implant services from Denver Dental Arts, Denver, North Carolina. Implants provide a permanent solution to tooth loss, making your smile whole and functional again.

About Tooth Implants

Implants are artificial teeth that mimic the look, feel, and performance of natural teeth. They’re composed of three parts – a titanium post (implant), an abutment, and a restoration – which work together to restore your smile’s functionality and appearance. The titanium post is implanted into your jaw surgically beneath your gum to replace your lost tooth root. There it will fuse with your bone system to eventually become the foundation for your replacement tooth. After the post has healed, we’ll add an abutment (connector) and a customized restoration to complete your treatment.

If you’re replacing one or more individual teeth, your restoration will be a dental crown customized to match the color and shape of your natural teeth. If you’re replacing several missing teeth in a row, we’ll create a natural-looking bridge to restore your smile. We offer full mouth implant restorations using all-on-four or all-on-six implant treatment to replace an entire arch or all of your teeth. As your restorations are firmly attached to the implant, your replacement teeth will have the same functionality as natural teeth, enabling you to talk, laugh, and eat confidently and easily.

Rebuild Your Smile Permanently

Implants offer a permanent solution to tooth loss because the implant itself can last a lifetime. Quality restorations can last up to 15 years or longer with proper care. Although rebuilding your smile with implants is a lengthy process, it offers unique benefits you won’t find with traditional dentures and bridges.

Here are some key facts you should know about implant treatment:

  • Implants offer the stability and security of natural teeth as your prosthetics have tooth roots. You’ll never have to worry about your teeth slipping, shifting, or falling out unexpectedly
  • Implants are easy to care for as they only require daily brushing, flossing, and biannual dental cleanings to stay healthy and strong, just like your natural teeth
  • Implants are permanent restorations that are never removed for soaking or cleaning. Neither do they require dental adhesives to keep them in place
  • With implants, you get the comfort of prosthetics that fit perfectly in your mouth and feel like natural teeth
  • Implants preserve your oral health by preventing bone loss, maintaining your bite, and keeping teeth in alignment to avoid problems with decay and gum disease

For strong, stable replacement teeth you can count on long-term, you can’t go wrong with implants
