Scaling & Root Planing Denver NC

Denver, NC area patients with late stages of periodontal disease, will want to work with a dentist to bring their smiles back to health. Periodontal disease can cause significant damage to the smile and result in the loss of gums, bones, and teeth. To prevent this, patients who get a proper diagnosis of their condition can undergo treatment at Denver Dental Arts to bring their smile back to health. The procedure is known as scaling and root planing.

What is scaling and root planing?

Drs. Nathen Ellis and Spencer Stewart of the Denver, NC area describe scaling and root planing as deep, meticulous cleaning of the teeth and gums as a treatment option for periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is an infection that starts in the soft tissues. Without proper diagnosis and treatment, patients might face serious problems, including damage that is irreversible. Scaling and root planing help in treating the infection at the source while reducing the risk of progression.

At Denver Dental Arts, comfort is our top priority. When performing these procedures, we ensure patients are at ease and comfortable with sedation and anesthetics during these types of treatments. Patients will rest in the dental chair as we perform the procedure and get patients one step closer to a healthier smile.

What are the aftercare instructions for scaling and root planing?

Our dental team will provide aftercare instructions for patients to follow to ensure a proper recovery while reducing the risk of further problems. With proper compliance, many patients will find that they heal significantly faster and achieve a healthier smile sooner rather than later!
